The ESRB has now rated Digimon World: Next Order on its official website. It tells us a few new details on what gamers will expect when the full game comes out early next year.

Digimon World: Next Order has been rated E for everyone over the age of 10. The content descriptors are: “Crude Humor, Fantasy Violence, Mild Language, Mild Suggestive Themes“.

The rating summary says: This is a role-playing game in which players help a hero save a digital world from a virus. As players explore the digital world, they interact with characters and raise Digimon creatures to help battle monsters in turn-based combat. Players issue commands to Digimon that perform various attacks and skill moves (e.g., mach jab, poison powder, rock fist) to defeat enemies.

Battles are highlighted by smacking sounds, colorful light effects, and large explosions. The game contains some suggestive material: female characters in outfits that reveal moderate amounts of cleavage and/or exposed buttocks; dialogue that states, “Stay away from me, you perv!” During the course of the game, players encounter a monster that performs an attack in which pink swirls (i.e., “cartoony” feces) are thrown and smear players’ screen. The words “damn” and “hell” appear in dialogue.

Digimon has always played second fiddle to Pokemon, but the franchise has still managed to be popular over the years. Aside from numeorous video games, the anime series has seen a lot of different iterations over the years.

The new Next Order video game will be out for the PS4 and PS Vita. It has a release date of January 27th, 2017 in Europe and January 31st, 2017 in North America. In Japan, the game is already out on PS Vita but they have to wait for the PS4 version until February 26th, 2017.
