Early next year will see the the long-awaited release of Nioh, a game that was originally announced in the 2000s that is being developed by Team Ninja. We’re only a couple of months away from the game’s release, though we’re still getting some fantastic new gameplay to checkout in the meantime. The latest footage comes from PlayStation Access, which shows off the Ogress boss battle running on PlayStation 4 Pro. You can check it our for yourself at the bottom of this post.

The video begins by showing some standard gameplay with regular enemies, with the area leading to the boss being dark and ominous. We also get to see some new enemies in action, along with some stat progression that has been streamlined since the first demo. The true wow moment comes at the end with the boss fight, however, with the battle with Ogress taking place in a gorgeous location. The boss itself is massive and seems to move quickly despite its size, being able to launch quick slashes that cover a lot of ground. The game has definitely been polished a lot following the demos, and the game looks incredible running on PlayStation 4 Pro.

Last month we learned that Sony would be publishing Nioh, as well as learning about the game’s PlayStation 4 Pro enhancements. They include the following:

PS4 Pro, HD display. Option 1: “Movie Mode”
Stable 1920×1080 resolution with high quality anti-aliasing at 30fps

PS4 Pro, HD display. Option 2: “Action Mode”
Stable 1920×1080 resolution at 60fps

PS4 Pro, 4K display. Option 1: “Movie Mode”
Stable 3840×2160 resolution at 30fps

PS4 Pro, 4K display. Option 2: “Action Mode”
Stable 1920×1080 resolution at 60fps

Nioh will launch exclusively for PlayStation 4 on February 9th, and you can check out the Ogress boss battle gameplay below. The game will offer pre-order bonuses as well as a deluxe edition, which you can learn more about by clicking right here.
