Microsoft took a bit of a break with Xbox One backwards compatibility over the holidays, but they came back strong on Tuesday with games like Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and others that we previously told you about. Their usual announcement schedule falls on Tuesdays and Thursdays and that means today brought a new batch of games to the Xbox One backwards compatibility lineup.
As per usual, Microsoft’s Larry Hyrb, aka Major Nelson, made the latest announcement via his Twitter, where he revealed that the latest additions to the Xbox One backwards compatibility lineup are three digital games with Mega Man 9, Mega Man 10, and Beat’n Groovy.
Mega Man 9 released back in 2008 as a follow-up to the original Mega Man franchise after a long hiatus. The game’s difficulty was even higher than in the past, which had positive to mixed reactions as a result. You can buy this one right now on the Xbox Games Store for $9.99, along with its DLC for additional costs.
Following up on Mega Man 9, Capcom went back to the well one more time for Mega Man 10, which released back in 2010. This game also received positive to mixed reactions as a result of its difficulty, but is definitely worth checking out like 9. Mega Man 10 also costs $9.99 on the Xbox Game Store for those that don’t already own it on 360.
The final addition of the week is Beat’n Groovy, which is a much lesser known Xbox Live Arcade title from 2008. This rhythm game that was published by Konami received absolutely scathing reviews when it initially came out, so this might be one you would be better of avoiding. However, if you are interested, you can buy it for $9.99 if you don’t own it.
The first week back in 2017 for Xbox One backwards compatibility was definitely a solid one, with good additions like Battlefield 3, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Mega Man 9, and Mega Man 10. January was teased to have some really good games, so we can’t wait to see what else they have in store in the upcoming weeks.
