Enter the Gungeon ended up being one of last year’s biggest surprises with its fantastic bullet hell roguelike gameplay, and now it will be coming to a brand new platform this year. Developer Dodge Roll Games has announced that the game will be coming to Nintendo Switch, though specifics on a release date or price were not divulged.
The game originally launched for PlayStation 4 and PC on April 5th of last year, and it received very positive reviews including our own. The game’s price was $14.99 on those platforms, so it’s likely that the Nintendo Switch version will follow suit. The following will give you an idea of what the game is all about:
“Enter the Gungeon is a bullet hell dungeon crawler following a band of misfits seeking to shoot, loot, dodge roll and table-flip their way to personal absolution by reaching the legendary Gungeon’s ultimate treasure: the gun that can kill the past. Select a hero [or team up in co-op] and battle your way to the bottom of the Gungeon by surviving a challenging and evolving series of floors filled with the dangerously adorable Gundead and fearsome Gungeon bosses armed to the teeth. Gather precious loot, discover hidden secrets, and chat with opportunistic merchants and shopkeepers to purchase powerful items to gain an edge.”
Nintendo’s upcoming console has been adding more games to its launch lineup recently, as last week we learned that Shovel Knight would be a launch title. It comes to the console as Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove, which serves as a hub for the original game (now called Shovel of Hope), the Plague of Shadows DLC and the Specter of Torment DLC. The Specter of Torment DLC will be a Nintendo Switch exclusive for a limited time, though specifics on the exclusivity period weren’t given.
Nintendo Switch will officially launch on March 3rd and costs $299.99.
