Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is the upcoming remake of the second game in the long running franchise that released for the Famicom only as Fire Emblem Gaiden. Even with the Nintendo Switch out, Nintendo is still showing the Nintendo 3DS plenty of love and this latest 3DS release just received a new trailer.

This latest trailers starts off with some story details, though they are in Japanese here, while also showcasing the beautiful hand drawn style artwork.

Following this intro, we get a glimpse at the game’s map system, which definitely maintains a traditional look. From what we can tell, you will go from icon to icon on this map for each battle, which is the next thing this new trailer showcased.

We also get a little look at the gameplay in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia here, which you’re probably better off checking out yourself in the trailer, as it’s hard to explain the setup of some of it other than it’s very similar to Fire Emblem games of the past.

Near the end of the trailer, it also shows a time rewind mechanic of some sort that will be included in the game, though it’s hard to really tell how exactly it will work yet due to it being in Japanese.

As this trailer mentions, Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia will be launching in less than a month on April 20 in Japan. Thankfully, the wait for it to come to the West will not be long at all, as it will be launching on the Nintendo 3DS in the US.

Also, don’t forget that the game is getting two exclusive amiibo launching alongside it of protagonists Alm and Celica, and if they are anything like past Fire Emblem amiibo, you may want to lock your pre-orders down sooner rather than later.
