Rejoice, JRPG fans! If you were at all worried about the state of JRPGs on the Nintendo 3DS, then you’ll be happy to know that Atlus has just announced three titles that will be making their way to the 3DSÂ in late 2017/early 2018 —Â Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth, Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology, and Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux.
Etrian Odyssey V, as you might expect, is the fifth installment of the long-running Etrian Odyssey series that dates back to the Nintendo DS in 2007 (JP/US) and 2008 (EU/AU). It will be joined by remakes of fellow DS titles Radiant Historia (2010/2011) and Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey (2009/2010). As these are remakes, players can expect to find updated content, such as new story content/routes and characters.
Etrian Odyssey V is due out this Fall and will cost $39.99, here is a trailer and brief description via Atlus:
Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth – “The fifth main installment of the long-running Etrian Odyssey series is finally arriving! Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth chronicles the quest of a new adventurer (hey, that’s you!) as he or she attempts to reach the top of the towering Yggdrasil Tree. For it is said that whoever braves the dangers of the dreaded Yggdrasil Labyrinth and reaches the summit will have their greatest wish fulfilled…”
Meanwhile, Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology is due out in early 2018 and will be priced at $39.99:
Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology – “It’s been six years since Radiant Historia was released on Nintendo DS in 2011, but it’s time to return to Vainqueur and unlock the time traveling power of the White Chronicle once again in Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology. This beloved classic is an expanded Nintendo 3DS port of the original game that will contain a great deal of added gameplay/story content, updated presentation, and new ways to experience the adventure!”
Lastly, Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux is due out in early 2018 and will retail at $39.99:

With Persona 5 still dominating the minds of Atlus fans on the PS4, it’s great to see the company continue its momentum on the 3DS. It looks like late-2017/early-2018 is going to be a fun one.
