Today marks the final day when Pokemon Go trainers can battle and catch the three Legendary Birds from Gen 1, at least for the foreseeable future. With these raids coming to an end, everyone wondered when the Gen 2 Legendary Pokemon would begin rolling out. Apparently the answer is right away, though these new creatures will have a longer availability time, and will be making their way around the world over the next few months. Find out when and where you can catch Raikou, Entei, and Suicune below.
“Starting August 31, the Legendary Pokémon Raikou, Entei, and Suicune will begin appearing in Pokémon GO,” reads the official announcement from Niantic. “Trainers worldwide can look forward to battling these Pokémon together with friends in Raid Battles for the chance to catch the trio of Legendary Pokémon originally from the Johto region. Raikou, Entei, and Suicune will be traveling the world throughout the coming months. From August 31 to September 30, you can find these Legendary Pokémon in the following areas of the world:
Raikou, an Electric-type Legendary Pokémon, can be battled throughout the Americas.
Entei, a Fire-type Legendary Pokémon, can be battled throughout Europe and Africa.
Suicune, a Water-type Legendary Pokémon, can be battled throughout the Asia-Pacific region.”
Following this first month the three Legendary Pokemon will rotate to new locations, offering another month to catch the new one. This will last until the end of November, so it looks like Pokemon Go players will have another busy few months ahead of them.
Adding to this are the looming Exclusive Raids, which have been renamed to EX Raids. This is where Mewtwo and potentially other even more sought after creatures will make their way into the game. Niantic will be testing global EX Raids starting soon, with the first becoming available on September 6th. Very few players will be involved, so just be patient and you should eventually be invited to one.
