Bioware may be limiting launch copies of Star Wars: The Old Republic according to recent statements made by the company. Speaking with Gamasutra, the company revealed that a set number of pre-order copies will be available for the game at launch to ensure a smooth user experience.
“We are limiting launch quantities of Star Wars: The Old Republic to ensure players have a smooth and high quality game experience and service at launch,” said the rep for Bioware. “All versions of the game — physical and digital — are available for pre-order on a limited basis only. Once they are gone, they are gone.”
It looks like Bioware is taking proactive measures to ensure that the launch of their MMO will go as smooth as possible. While it certainly could be a publicity stunt, nothing is worse than buying something to turn around and have a horrible experience.
