Last year, No Man’s Sky saw several updates throughout 2018, including the NEXT, Abyss, and Visions updates. Now, the name of their next update has been revealed, and it promises to be the game’s biggest update yet.

In a recent press release, developer Hello Games announced the next update coming to No Man’s Sky, which will be called Beyond. Not much about the update was discussed, but Hello Games says that it will be their most ambitious update to date. A core theme of Beyond seems to be multiplayer play, as Hello Games states that the update “will change the way players come together and offer radical new ways to explore the universe.” However, it is also stated that multiplayer won’t be the only thing updated when Beyond arrives.

Apparently, the Beyond update is so big that Hello Games finds it necessary to reveal its contents in pieces over the course of the next several weeks, rather than explaining everything all at once, so keep an eye out for more news about Beyond. One thing that Hello Games does want players to know, however, is that Beyond will be completely free for all No Man’s Sky players and will not require a subscription fee and will not feature microtransactions.

No Man’s Sky is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The Beyond update will arrive sometime this summer.
