In Wolfenstein: Youngblood there are normal enemies and more difficult shielded enemies that you’ll encounter in your time with the game. Normal enemies will be pretty easy to take down, but the shielded enemies have a unique mechanic associated with killing them more quickly.
What you’ll want to look out for when fighting shielded enemies is their health bar. The health bar on shielded enemies will be different depending on which type of ammunition will kill them more quickly. These bars are broken down into smaller blocks which correspond with different ammo types. This can be a little bit hard to read in the heat of the moment so you’re going to be looking for the shapes of the white boxes.
Some are tall and skinny, some are rectangular, while others are squares. Whatever shape the enemy shield bar is shaped is the type of weapon that you’ll want to use on them. You’ll need to match the shape of the white portion of the bar on your enemy with the ammo shape located on the bottom right hand side of the screen.
You’ll notice that when you’re shooting an enemy with the correct ammo type, they will die much more quickly.
