Sure you might be a gung ho commando when you take to the game worlds on Call of Duty or Battlefield 3, but there are real men and women out there right now that are protecting our country, and millions who have come before them.  Today is a day that the United States salutes its armed forces, and those that have fought to protect the freedoms that allow us to make snide racist remarks anonymously via Xbox Live, or on comments sections of the website you are on now.  We probably take it for granted at times, I know I do.

A friend of the site (and all around good guy), Shanghai Six of Front Towards Gamer, operates a charity called Operation Supply Drop.  In it,  OperationSupplyDrop.org sends a box full of donated video games from various donators to U.S. forces that are stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Going strong for over a year now, the charity has gotten off to a great start, sending out packages intermittently.

This month being Veteran’s month, Front Towards Gamer is looking to step it up a notch to show the troops that they are appreciated.  They are aiming to send out one package per week, and they’re gonna need everyone’s help to achieve this goal.  So how can you help?

There’s multiple ways to do so.  You can send in used gear to the charity, you can make a donation via paypal or their Chipin link, or if you don’t have the cash or wares on hand to spare, you could always just tell as many people as you know until you find someone that does.

For more info on how to participate, head over to Front Towards Gamer for the details.
