Mario Party Superstars is definitely one of those games where one session can last for a really long time. Sometimes, we’re going to need a break because something comes up, we want to prevent eye strain, or perhaps the day is ending and you have to tend to something else.
Luckily, you can save in the middle of a session should you ever find a time where that’s the case. Here’s how to do that.
How to save in Mario Party Superstars
While the core gameplay content of Superstars is initially unlocked, you still make progress while playing the game. Mario Party Superstars has a progression system that is tied to your Nintendo Switch account.
Your Nintendo name is tied to your Mario Party Card which essentially details your coin balance, time played, level, title, and your favorite aspects of every major Mario Party game prior to this one. Luckily, the game autosaves after going in or out of a menu. It’ll also autosave after playing at Mt. Minigames or the main Mario Party mode.
How to save and quit in the middle of a board
If you are in a long multiplayer session and need to take a break for whatever reason, you do not have to lose progress in doing so. You can be on the last turn of a 25-turn game and need to save and quit for whatever reason.
Simply hit the start or plus button while not in a minigame and quit out via Mt. Minigames or the Village. A menu will pop up asking you if you want to confirm your option. The message will read: “When you come back, you can continue play from the start of the current turn.” The game will save off at the start of whatever turn you’re on.
The neat thing here is that you can have up to 10 different sessions saved. The game will keep track of star progress, coins, and everything else. It’ll also differentiate whether the game was played offline, online, or locally with other systems.
Mario Party Superstars is out now exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. To check out additional content on the game, click here.
