Animal Crossing New Horizons: How to Get a Froggy Chair

Recommended Videos

The iconic Froggy Chair is a fan-favorite and an item that’s been highly requested to return in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Thankfully, Froggy Chair has finally been added to the game in the Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 update! In this guide, we’ll show you exactly how to get your hands on a Froggy Chair and its brand new color options.

How to Get a Froggy Chair in Animal Crossing New Horizons

The Froggy Chair is a general item, meaning there are no special requirements to obtain it and it can’t be crafted. Instead, it can be found through multiple means, which are all listed below. Froggy Chair comes in six different colors and is also available in the catalogue after being obtained once.

Nook’s Cranny

Froggy Chair has a chance of appearing in Nook’s Cranny in any of its six color variants. The chance is very low, however, and won’t be something you can come across easily. It will be displayed as one of three items that change daily in the top left section of the store.

Redd’s Treasure Tracker

Redd sells a few rare items that are usually found in Nook’s Cranny when he visits, with the Froggy Chair being one of them. This is likely your best way to buy a Froggy Chair in-game and the one with the most reports of successful hunting. Visit our guide to Redd’s Treasure Tracker to learn more about Redd and when he visits.

Balloons

Froggy Chair can also be randomly found through shooting balloons, as discovered by user ‘u/Haiboyo’ on Reddit. The amount of items that can drop from balloons is huge, so you shouldn’t solely rely on this method to obtain your first Froggy Chair. It’s more of a nice, random, froggy surprise.

Nook Shopping Catalogue

After obtaining a Froggy Chair once, it will be available to purchase permanently in the ‘Nook Shopping’ catalogue. If you haven’t been lucky in your search for this illustrious amphibian chair, you can always ask a friend, who has, to send you one as a gift.

Nookazon

Although not currently listed at the time of writing, Nookazon, a third party website that allows players to trade across the world, will be listing Froggy Chair as a tradeable item. It’s very likely going to be pricey in the first few days, though. If you’ve never used the site, Nookazon users often ask for Bells or Nook Mile Tickets in exchange for the item you’re seeking, but can also ask for items they’re looking for, too.

Froggy Chair Colors in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

As mentioned previously, the Froggy Chair now has six different color variants! Green, pink, light blue, yellow, orange with black spots and dark blue with black spots. The color you receive in shops and balloons are seemingly random and it’s currently unknown if it’s customisable, but we will edit this guide with more information as soon as it’s available. All six of Froggy Chair’s designs can be viewed below.
