Astral Chain: How To Clean Up Red Matter

There are many different tasks for you to perform in Astral Chain, some required and some optional. Red Matter cleanup is one of the mostly optional side tasks that you can take on in each area, though you are definitely going to want to try and clean up as much as possible. This guide will detail what Red Matter is and how you can clean it up throughout Astral Chain.

Starting in File 02, you will begin to see Red Matter quite often in the game, with it dispersed throughout. Red Matter is a substance left behind by Chimeras that can infect and turn people mad. Thankfully having a Legion protects yourself from this, so we are able to clean it up in the game.

To clean up Red Matter in Astral Chain, first you need to summon your Legion by pressing ZL. Then hold down ZL and move your Legion with the right analog stick to the spot right where the Red Matter is located.

Now what you need to do is just continue to move your Legion all around the infected area with the Red Matter and eventually it will clear the affected area. You may then be able to interact with the area where the Red Matter was located for additional information sometimes as well.

It is always a good idea to look out for Red Matter as you’re playing through the game, as cleaning it up will also provide you with extra Duty Points.
