Unlike previous entries in the Battlefield series, Battlefield 2042 allows players to change weapon attachments on the fly while in game. In past games, the player would need to back out into the deploy menu to customize their weapons. Being able to swap out a red dot sight for a 3x scope can prove very efficient when you come across a long range fire-fight. While the game doesn’t tell you point-blank how to change attachments, it’s actually quite simple. Here’s how to change attachments in Battlefield 2042.
How to Change Attachments in Battlefield 2042
To change attachments in Battlefield 2042, you must first know that you need to be in-game to do so. For the beta, there is no option to customize this aspect in the deploy menu like the previous games. The game uses something called the “Plus System” in which you hold a designated button to pull up a Plus Menu and select a variety of attachments from different categories.
How to use Plus System on PC
To use the Plus System with keyboard and mouse on the PC, it’s as simple as holding down the “T” key and left clicking on the attachment you’re wanting, then releasing “T” to equip.
How to use Plus System on Xbox
When using an Xbox controller, hold LB and use the directional buttons to select your attachment and then release LB to equip. However, players may come across an issue where the directional buttons may not work and instead need to use the ABXY buttons to cycle through the attachments.
How to use Plus System on PlayStation
To change your attachments on PlayStation, you need to hold L1 and use the directional buttons to navigate to your desired attachment. It’s worth noting that there’s also an issue where the player may need to use Square, Triangle, Circle, and Cross to navigate the Plus System.
The Battlefield 2042 beta is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The full game launches on November 19th.
