Best Upgrades for Nightmare Harvester Season 17 Destiny 2

Destiny 2 Nightmare Harvester: Best Artifact Upgrades for Season of the Haunted

Recommended Videos

The new Artifact in Destiny 2‘s Season of the Haunted is called the Nightmare Harvester. You’ll get the Nightmare Harvester after the first mission of the new season. Much like the Artifacts before it, the Nightmare Harvester unlocks upgrades as you earn XP. As more unlocks become available for your Nightmare Harvester, you’ll be able to upgrade your guns and abilities to fight the Nightmares in the Nightmare Containment activity (and everywhere else) much better.

Best Nightmare Harvester Artifact Upgrades

The most essential Nightmare Harvester upgrade that you’ll need for Destiny 2 Season of the Haunt is Overload Rounds. What Overload Rounds do is give your Auto Rifles and Submachine Guns a stun to combatants which is especially good against Overload Champions. There will be many Overload Champions in the Nightmare Containment activity, so unlock Overload Rounds and equip it to your Gauntlets early. Since this upgrade is in the first column, you can unlock it as soon as you level up your Nightmare Harvester once.

The next essential Nightmare Harvester unlock is Armor of the Dying Star. This upgrade is in the third tier, so you will need to gain a good amount of XP before unlocking it. Armor of the Dying Star reduces incoming Solar and Void damage from combatants which is especially useful since we now have Solar 3.0 and Void 3.0.

Speaking of Solar 3.0, a lot of the artifact upgrades from Nightmare Harvester pair extremely well with any Solar build. Molten Overload adds disruption to all of your Solar grenades which pairs nicely with Overload Rounds. Classy Restoration will grant you regeneration whenever you use your Solar class abilities and Solar Fulmination will make all of your ignitions do more damage with a bigger radius. If you’re looking to build the best Solar 3.0 Guardian, these are just some of the Nightmare Harvester upgrades worth considering.

If you want to maximize your effectiveness with the new Exotic Sidearm Trespasser, you’ll want to unlock and equip Sidearm Holster and Sidearm Dexterity. The Sidearm Holster perk gradually reloads your stowed Sidearm over time and the Sidearm Dexterity perk makes pulling out and putting away your sidearm much faster.

There are some other nifty Nightmare Harvester upgrades to check out, but those are the best for Destiny 2 Season of the Haunt. If you’re curious about how else you can maximize your time with Destiny 2 Season 17, be sure to check out our Destiny 2 guides.

Destiny 2 is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, and PC.
