Season of the Haunted has begun in Destiny 2, and players can collect Opulent Keys to unlock Opulent Chests hidden around the Derelict Leviathan in areas like the Pleasure Gardens. Opulent Keys will unlock a random Opulent Chest somewhere in the new patrol zone, but your destination is random each time and you’re only given a vague hint to guide you to your treasure.
In this case, there are three possible clues, and each of them is listed below.
- Pleasure Gardens, Among the Ruins
- Pleasure Gardens, Guarded by a Loyal Companion
- Pleasure Gardens, by Fallen Greatness
The Pleasure Gardens is an easily accessible area on the Derelict Leviathan, but who is the loyal companion? Here’s how to get the Pleasure Gardens Opulent Chest in Destiny 2 Season of the Haunted.
Where to Find the Pleasure Gardens in Destiny 2
To begin, make your way onto the Derelict Leviathan by navigating to the Castellum on the Moon. Once you load in, take a few steps forward straight toward the Nightmare Containment event and the Cabal enemies.
Slightly to your right, you should see a giant golden statue of Emperor Calus with a bunch of stuff growing on it. Follow the path that curves around behind that statue, hugging the left wall.
You’ll shortly come across a lowered area with an open doorway that has an eerie red glow. Head inside and follow the path to reach the Pleasure Gardens.
To recap, here’s how to find the Pleasure Gardens:
- Load into the Derelict Leviathan
- Circle behind the golden Calus statue to the right
- Continue through the eerie red hallway underneath the statue
Pleasure Gardens Opulent Chest Locations
After a long, winding hallway, you’ll emerge into the Pleasure Gardens. This area should be very familiar to you if you ran the Leviathan raid when Destiny 2 was still new. Once you enter the area, you will see the phrase “Opulent Key Held” indicating that there are chests in the region.
There’s more than one spot where the chest can show up in the Pleasure Gardens though. You have to try them all until you find the one that is made for your key, otherwise, it will tell you that it doesn’t fit.
Pleasure Gardens, Among the Ruins
The first chest location’s hint is “Pleasure Gardens, Among the Ruins.” It can be found directly to the left of the entrance when you’re coming in. It’s tucked into a corner behind some pillars, which are the ruins described in the clue.
Pleasure Gardens, Guarded by a Loyal Companion
The second chest’s hint is “Pleasure Gardens, Guarded by a Loyal Companion.” It can be found next to the Calus statue along the back wall of the room. The chest is resting at the foot of a golden dog statue to the left of Calus.
Pleasure Gardens, by Fallen Greatness
The third chest’s hint is “Pleasure Gardens, by Fallen Greatness.” It is located directly to the right of the entrance in front of a fallen statue. The “fallen greatness” in question is the head of a destroyed Calus statue.
The chests aren’t hard to find since the room is fairly small, but to recap, here are all three possible chest locations in the Pleasure Gardens:
- Directly to the left of the entrance
- Directly to the right of the entrance
- Near the golden dog statue against the back wall
Opening an Opulent Chest will reward you with one of the new Opulent weapons from this season, such as Drang (Baroque), Austringer, or Beloved.
How to Get Opulent Keys
Opulent Keys are rare rewards that can be obtained by participating in most of the new Season of the Haunted activities on the Derelict Leviathan, including the following:
- Destination Chests
- Haunted Alcove Chests
- Nightmare Containment Reward Chests
Again, they only drop aboard the Derelict Leviathan, so you can’t get them in any other patrol zones. Thankfully, the new Nightmare Containment mode is a great time, and you’ll need to participate in it if you want to get some of the new/returning Opulent weapons.
Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Google Stadia.
