Pretty much every gamer out there has experienced the following: you’re playing a tough game. You’ve worked on it for dozens of minutes, maybe even an hour or two. Then something happens. A slip of the finger/thumb, or a momentary lapse in judgement and it all goes wrong. You messed up and it’ll take way too long to get things back how you had them before. Should you quit? Maybe, but not if you’re playing through the very challenging old school experiences on Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King. That’s because instead you can just rewind to that earlier state, but it might take awhile to figure out. To help, here’s how to rewind gameplay in Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King.

How to Rewind Gameplay

Thankfully while other things like saving or turning off borders may be a bit confusing, rewinding gameplay is as easy as a single button press. This might change depending on platform of choice, but it should simply be the L button on Switch, LB on Xbox One, or L1 on PS4. PC uses it’s own controls, so check the menu to find out if you are unsure. Pressing this down and holding it will prompt the game to begin rewinding. You should be able to go back pretty far, most of the time back to the beginning of the level or to when you first loaded your last save.

With this simple and easy to use feature you can retry sections that are particularly difficult or just erase a single mistake, ala the Omega 13 from Galaxy Quest. It’s a great tool for these older titles, which could be somewhat punishing and unforgiving in their difficulty. Aladding benefits a lot, but The Lion King is the real champion here. Some of its later stages can be nearly impossible, mostly due to a desire to get more rentals out of kids at Blockbuster. That’s no longer a concern though now that you know how to rewind gameplay in Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King.
