Gold is a very rare resource in the world of Fallout 76, but it’s going to be needed to create some technologically advanced mods and equipment in the game. Gold is going to be one of the major components when trying to craft laser weapons. Like some other native element minerals you can find gold throughout the world in gold veins and gold deposits and can be harvested directly.  Gold can also be found in a number of different junk items in the game.  These items include lighters, utensils, and even a board game.  Below you’ll find every item that’ll have gold in it in Fallout 76.

Junk that contains Gold in Fallout 76

  • Arthur Wood’s Lighter
  • Gold Fork
  • Gold Ore
  • Gold Plated Flip Lighter
  • Gold Pocket Watch
  • Gold Scraps
  • Gold Table Knife
  • Gold Table Spoon
  • Gold Plated Glass
  • Unstoppables Board Game

As with other minerals that are mined, the gold that you get from from mining is a little bit different than the gold you’ll get from items.  Gold items will break down to scraps but gold that you mine will be Gold Ore and must be smelted at a Chemistry Station.

There are alternatives to just looking for items in Fallout 76.  You could opt to claim a Workshop instead with the items you are looking for.  There are a few Workshops that have gold and you can use an excavator to harvest it.

Workshops that have Gold Deposits include: Billing’s Homestead, Hemlock Holes, Beckley Mine Exhibit, Spruce Knob, and Abandoned Bog Town.  Need directions?  Head here for all Workshop Locations in Fallout 76.
