Fortnite – How to Upgrade Weapons

In Fortnite Chapter 2 players can now upgrade their existing weapons on the fly by finding an upgrade bench.  These benches look like glowing circular tables and can be found in different places in each match.

You can now upgrade your weapons during a match if you find the upgrade bench

To use the upgrade bench and upgrade your weapons you’re going to need A) A Weapon to Upgrade and B) Plenty of Materials.  As you can see in this image above, coming across the upgrade bench we needed 250 of each material to upgrade the shotgun from rare to legendary.  However, each class of weapon has a different number of materials necessary.

• Upgrading Common to Uncommon – 50 of each material
• Upgrading Uncommon to Rare – 150 of each material
• Upgrading Rare to Epic – 250 of each material

Once you perform the upgrade the existing weapon will change into the upgraded version and take the space of the previous weapon in your inventory.  To use the bench you simply need to walk up to it and interact with it.

If you have the correct amount of materials and you are attempting to upgrade an item that can be upgraded you will make the conversion in seconds.
