Fin Fang Foom in Guardians of the Galaxy

Guardians of the Galaxy: Fin Fang Foom Boss Guide

Recommended Videos

Chapter 13 of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy has the team fight ‘Fin Fang Foom’, an extraterrestrial dragon-like creature introduced in Marvel Comics back in 1961, in order to convince Lady Hellbender to join forces against the Universal Church of Truth.

In this guide, we’ll be detailing exactly how to defeat Fin Fang Foom in Guardians of the Galaxy, just as honorably as Drax intended it to be.

How to beat Fin Fang Foom in Guardians of the Galaxy

To beat Fin Fang Foom in Guardians of the Galaxy, you’ll first need to melt Fin Fang Foom’s ice armor that’s currently protecting him. Select Plasma from your Element Guns and fire it at the ice on his body. Remember to watch out for his fire breath, ground break and claw attacks, which are indicated by warning triangles and call all be avoided by jet boosting away. You’ll need to melt the ice around his left legright leg, torso and head before moving on to the next part of the fight.

Avoid the falling ice and fire by boosting away from the circles on the floor, which you’ll need to do for the rest of the fight, along with Fin Fang Foom’s other attacks, which can be dodged in the same way. You can now shoot at and direct Rocket to attack Fin Fang Foom in the places you melted his ice armor prior; his legs, torso and head. Shooting won’t do a whole lot of damage, but it’s what you’ll need to do for now. In random intervals, Fin Fan Foom will attack with one of its claws, which will get stuck in the ice. Root it down with Groot and activate your Guardian abilities to deal as much damage as you can while he’s stuck. Save your most powerful abilities for this next part, though.

When you’ve done enough damage, you will get a button prompt that will make Star-Lord fire a powerful blast of plasma at Fin Fang Foom’s head and Drax throw a giant chunk of ice. Foom’s head will flop to the ground for a short period and this is where you want to deal as much damage as possible: your purple Guardian Abilities, Star-Lord’s ‘Fan the Hammer’ and anything else you can muster. Your fellow Guardians will likely die in this fight, so make sure to revive them as soon as you can when it’s clear. Huddle is a great choice if a few of your team members are down, but try to save it for a damage phase.

Repeat these two steps until Fin Fang Foom is on the last slither of his health and the final button prompt will end the fight. Congratulations! You’ve beaten Fin Fang Foom in Guardians of the Galaxy
