Guardians of the Galaxy Huddle Guide: How to Answer Correctly Every Time

Recommended Videos

‘Huddle’ is a unique mechanic to Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and a tool that can potentially be the difference between losing and winning a fight. Plus, it lets you listen to a song from the game’s killer soundtrack while in battle.

In this guide, we’ll explain how Huddle works in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, when to use it and, most importantly, how to answer correctly every time.

What does Huddle do in Guardians of the Galaxy?

Huddle can be activated in battle when the ‘Huddle Gauge’ is full. It will take the player out of the battle temporarily and, as the name suggests, huddle the whole team together in a mini first-person cutscene. Your fellow Guardians will let you know how they’re feeling in the current battle, whether that’s expressing how easy the battle is or complaining about how they’re probably going to die. It’s up to you to choose the correct response that either motivates them or refocuses them.

Should the player pick the correct choice, all Guardians, including Star-Lord, will receive a damage bonus. If the wrong choice is chosen, Star-Lord will only benefit from the boost and the rest of the Guardians don’t. Regardless of if the player chooses the wrong or right choice, all Guardians will be automatically revived and a song from the soundtrack will play. In-game bonuses aside, the perfect song choices alone already makes combat feel even better.

How do you activate a Huddle in Guardians of the Galaxy?

The ‘Huddle Gauge’ in the bottom right of the screen fills every time the player uses a Guardian ability during combat. They’re more they’re used, the faster the gauge is filled. Once the Huddle Guage is filled, it will display what buttons need to be pressed to activate it: L1 and R1 simultaneously on PlayStation and LB and RB simultaneously on Xbox. Once pressed, all combat will be paused and all Guardians of the Galaxy will be brought into a screen with a gradient background. After their dialogue, the player will need to select what they think is the best choice to motivate or refocus the team, based on the key words.

How to answer correctly every time while using Huddle

To make the correct choice in every Huddle, focus on everything your fellow Guardians are saying to you. The most important key words will appear as large text behind the characters. If they are being too cocky or are arguing with each other, you will need to choose a response that will refocus the team, rather than encourage them. If they sound defeated or scared, the best option would be to reassure and motivate them instead. For example, if the team was expressing how much better they are than the enemy, the best option to choose would be one that suggests not to underestimate the enemy. This will refocus the team, rather than encourage them to carry on as they are.

Put simply, one option will be a refocusing option and the other will be a motivational option. You need to figure out which one best suits the moment. In the example above, the team is complaining about the enemy cheating. The correct option for this Huddle was ‘Cheating creeps can’t win against renegades like us”, as it was the option that refocuses the team. “Don’t get cocky just ’cause we know the game” doesn’t apply, as no team members were being overconfident.
