Using the map in Hitman 2 isn’t very tricky so long as you know where to look.  The Map in Hitman 2 can give you vital information about the area you in, including your current location, your targets and other objectives, as well as the locations of stairs, exits, and other points of interest.

To use the map in Hitman 2 you will use the Touchpad on the PlayStation 4 and the Start Button on Xbox One.  Most of the map will need to be revealed by exploration in Hitman 2.  As you start a fresh playthrough a level, you will be able to see a general outline of the map, but the points of interest will need to be visited by you to uncover them.

There are a handful of things to keep an eye out for when using the map.

Pink Reticle Icons – These are your assassination targets

White Waypoint Markers – Undiscovered Areas

Green Square Icons – Agency Pickup Locations

Black Circle – Agent 47

Staircase – Will have arrows telling you whether it goes up or down

Each time you visit a new Undiscovered Icon you will reveal more of the map that goes towards completing the Discovery Challenge.  Each level has a certain number of areas to uncover and to see them all you will need to visit each white square waypoint marker.  Doing so will earn you Mastery Points.

The map can also be used to keep track of items and disguises that you may have dropped in a given playthrough.

Many of the locations in Hitman 2 have multiple levels to explore and these can be accessed on the map screen by pressing the L2/LT and R2/RT buttons to cycle through them.  To get a closer look at a specific area you will press in the Left Thumbstick to zoom on the map.
