Minecraft players who have been around for a long time know one thing to be certain: diamonds are at Y-level 11. However, that one simple fact has become obsolete with the addition of the latest update to the game for the Bedrock Edition of Minecraft 1.18. Ore collecting is one of the fundamental elements of Minecraft. It’s in the name for crying out loud! So, if you are struggling to find diamonds in Minecraft 1.18, we have got you covered. Here is how to find diamonds in Minecraft 1.18. We will answer the question which level is the best to mine diamonds.
How to Find Diamonds in Minecraft 1.18
The first thing you need to do is head down into a cave with your iron pickaxe. Iron has been liberally spread out all across the Y-axis. So you will find this resource relatively quickly. However, with more space inside caves, lighting your path may become more challenging than you may realize.
Going below Y-level 0 will ultimately foster less coal to mine as it has been kicked up above Y-level 0, mostly. Be on the lookout and stack up on coal before going down for diamonds.
Once you have your resources, head down to Y-level -58 to find diamonds. For those who don’t know, you can check your Y-axis by hitting the “F3” key on your keyboard or go into your menu and turn on the coordinates setting in Minecraft: Bedrock Edition.
However, though you will find diamonds at this level, it is not the only place where diamonds spawn. We highly advise you to search up and down the massive cave systems for all kinds of ores instead of strip mining. However, with the power and freedom to do as you please in the world of Minecraft, the choice is always yours.
After you’re done strip mining, join any of the servers we recommend for a fun multiplayer experience.
Minecraft is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, mobile devices, and many other platforms.
