How to Get Event Zekrom/Reshiram in Pokémon (Ultra) Sun/(Ultra) Moon

The Pokémon Legendary Year is beginning to wind down, with only a couple more events scheduled to take place. In October, players will be able to get the Generation V Legendaries Zekrom and Reshiram. In the United States, players will be able to receive a code from Target stores from October 19 to 29 that they can punch into Mystery Gift to obtain their Legendary Pokémon. Those in Canada, on the other hand, will receive their code via this month’s Trainer Club newsletter. Once you have received your code, follow the following instructions to receive your Legendary:

• Start up your Sun, Ultra Sun, Moon, or Ultra Moon game and select “Mystery Gift” from the main menu instead of “Continue.”
• From the Mystery Gift menu, select “Receive Gift.”
• Select “Get with Code/Password,” then, when asked about connecting to the internet, select “Yes” and then “Yes” again.
• Enter the code you received from Target or the Trainer Club newsletter.
• Your game will receive Zekrom or Reshiram.
• Now “Continue” your game and talk to the delivery man in the orange and blue shirt, who you can find in any Pokémon Center. He will give you your Zekrom or Reshiram.

Meanwhile, those in Europe or Australia will be able to receive this month’s Legendary via Mystery Gift wi-fi from October 5 to 21 without having to get a code first. To receive Zekrom or Reshiram via wi-fi, follow the following instructions:

• Start up your Sun, Ultra Sun, Moon, or Ultra Moon game and select “Mystery Gift” from the main menu instead of “Continue.”
• From the Mystery Gift menu, select “Receive Gift.”
• Select “Get via Internet,” then, when asked about connecting to the internet, select “Yes.”
• Your game will receive Zekrom or Reshiram.
• Now “Continue” your game and talk to the delivery man in the orange and blue shirt, who you can find in any Pokémon Center. He will give you your Zekrom or Reshiram.

Once you know how to get your code for this month, follow the first set of instructions on this page to receive your Zekrom or Reshiram. Those playing Pokémon Sun will receive a Level 60 Zekrom that knows Slash, Zen Headbutt, Fusion Bolt, and Dragon Claw, while Ultra Sun players will receive a Level 100 Zekrom that is holding a Gold Bottle Cap and knows Fusion Bolt, Bolt Strike, Outrage, and Stone Edge. Meanwhile, Moon players will receive a Level 60 Reshiram that knows Slash, Extrasensory, Fusion Flare, and Dragon Pulse, and Ultra Moon players will receive a Level 100 Reshiram that is holding a Gold Bottle Cap and knows Fusion Flare, Blue Flare, Draco Meteor, and Earth Power.

If you’re receiving your Legendary Pokémon in Ultra Sun or Ultra Moon, then you will also open up the ability to catch Kyurem in your game. To do this, you will need to have caught Reshiram in Ultra Sun or Zekrom in Ultra Moon, then use this month’s Mystery Gift event to obtain Zekrom in Ultra Sun or Reshiram in Ultra Moon.
