Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 is finally here, and players can customize the new Toona Fish skin by collecting Rainbow Ink in various places across the map. While solid color schemes can be unlocked for Toona Fish by collecting Color Bottles, the character styles must be unlocked with Rainbow Ink first. Just like the Alien Artifacts for the Kymera skin last season, Rainbow Ink can be found all over the island. If you want all the Toona Fish styles, you better start grinding. Here’s how to get Rainbow Ink in Fortnite.
How to Get Rainbow Ink in Fortnite
Rainbow Ink can be found in chests. It has a random chance of appearing, but it’s not too rare. You can only collect 25 Rainbow Ink per week. Cosmic Chests have returned this season, and they are guaranteed to give at least a few Rainbow Ink just like they did for Alien Artifacts in Season 7.
There are currently 21 characters styles for Toona Fish and they cost 10 Rainbow Ink each, so you’ll need 210 Rainbow Ink to unlock them all. There are 21 more styles coming on September 30 that cost 15 Rainbow Ink each, so you will need an additional 310 Rainbow Ink to unlock them all. That means you will need to collect a grand total of 520 Rainbow Ink to unlock all 42 character styles for Toona Fish. You won’t be able to collect that much until much later in the season though, so don’t worry about it too much now.
In the meantime, you can work on finding all 21 Color Bottles to unlock more styles for Toona Fish. All of the character styles have prerequisites involving Color Bottles, so you’ll have to find them all anyway. For example, you cannot unlock the Peely style without finding 3 bottles of Banana Yellow in Rainbow Rentals first.
Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices.
