How to Access the PlayStation 5 Beta Software Update

Before following the steps to access the beta software, it is important to remember that this is only available to a select few PlayStation 5 users. If you have been selected and received an email from PlayStation, follow the steps below.

  1. Go to PlayStation Store on your PS5 console.
  2. Redeem the 12-character voucher provided in the invitation email.
  3. Head into settings.
  4. Select System.
  5. Select System Software.
  6. Select System Software Update and Settings.
  7. Select System Software (beta) and hit update.
  8. Accept the PlayStation 5 System Software Beta Agreement.

Once you have completed the steps mentioned, your console will update and include all the new software beta features. According to the PlayStation Support page, if any changes are made to the beta, your PS5 console will automatically update.
