Warner Bros. Games recently released brand-new footage of their upcoming Gotham Knights game and that has some fans upset due to the fact that the game will launch on only select platforms when it arrives later this year.  While a recent trailer showcased gameplay of Nightwing and Red Hood in the game it was also revealed which platforms the game will release on and those that haven’t been able to find an Xbox Series X/S or PlayStation 5 are left scratching their heads.

Will Gotham Knights Come to PS4?

No, Gotham Knights will not come to PS4 or Xbox One which was revealed in a press release for the game.  The developers cited the following reasons for the game not coming to PS4 and Xbox One – “to provide players with the best possible gameplay experience, the game will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC and will not be available for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One consoles.  While this is bad news for those that don’t have the required platforms, those that do should benefit from a better overall experience.

Gotham Knights Gameplay

The recent release of the first gameplay demo for Gotham Knights was nothing short of impressive.  Gotham Knights looks to be very similar to the popular Batman Arkham games, just featuring new characters with its third-person open-world gameplay.  The Batman Arkham franchise revolutionized both third person action and licensed titles when the original Batman Arkham Asylum launched back in 2009.  Will Gotham Knights have the same impact?  It’s hard to tell, but it’s certainly going to have a smaller player base as many would-be owners of the new PlayStation and Xbox consoles have been left out of the fun as the consoles have been extremely hard to find and in high demand.

The Gotham Knights release date is October 22nd, 2022 and will arrive on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation and PC.
