Most mini-boss type enemies are found within the dungeons in The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, but that is not always the case. Lanmola is one of those mini-bosses that is found on the overworld that you will have to defeat to continue in the game and this guide will explain how you can defeat this slippery enemy.
Lanmola is found in the upper left corner of the Yarna Desert and is not the easiest of enemies to get past. While Lanmola itself isn’t all that intimidating, the arena you are fighting in is what makes this more problematic.
As soon as you enter this section of Yarna Desert, a little scene will start and Lanmola will pop out of the sand and move forward in a straight line from where it starts. The key here is to hit it right in the head to damage it, as the rest of its body is invulnerable to all of your attacks.
Where the problem lies here is the pit in the middle that the sand is all churning around. If you step into the middle of the pit, you will fall down into an underground area, where you have to move to the right and up the stairs. At this point, you can then walk to the left to take on Lanmola again.
Once you get back to Lanmola, go through the above steps and it will take about seven hits to take it down.
