If you know exactly what you’re doing at all times then Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening remake on Switch is actually a very short and easy game. But if you didn’t play the original on Game Boy, Game Boy Color, or 3DS then you don’t know what you’re doing and will run into walls all throughout your adventure on Koholint Island. One of the earliest involves a tricky raccoon who blocks your path to the first dungeon by hiding the Tail Key. Here’s how to get past the raccoon in The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening for Switch.
How to Get Past the Raccoon
The answer, as with many questions in The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening for Switch is to go on a bit of a fetch quest. You’ll need Magic Powder, which can be used to turn the raccoon back into Tarin. Once you sprinkle some MAgic Powder on the raccoon he will revert to his former self and allow you to pass by. If you don’t currently have any of this important item then you’ll want to see how to get Magic Powder right here.
Once you follow that guide and get some powder you can head back to the Mysterious Forest and use it on the racoon. That’s all you need to do really. Once done head north and you can grab the Tail Key which can then be used to enter the Tail Cave, the first real dungeon in Link’s Awakening. Simple enough, but many more quests like this face you throughout the game. Be sure to check back for guides on how to get through them as we dive deeper into the experience.
