Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening – How To Get Shield Back From A Like Like

The Legend of Zelda is known for having a long history of different enemies over the years, with many of them reoccurring throughout the franchise as well. There is no doubt that one of the most infamous is that of the Like Like, who is always a pain to deal with every appearance. Like Likes will steal from you in The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening too and this guide will explain how you can get your stuff back from them.

Like Likes are the enemies seen in the above picture, which typically look about the same in most games. You can strike a Like Like with your sword, with a few hits taking it down. This seems pretty simple, but the problem is that the Like Like has a penchant for absorbing you for a short period of time and stealing your shield.

If you get trapped by the Like Like and have your shield stolen, the only way to get it back without going and just buying a new shield is to destroy the Like Like that took it from you. The best strategy here is to try to go towards the Like Like and start slashing with your sword, keeping as much distance as you possible can while still being able to land attacks until it is defeated.

Once you destroy the Like Like, your shield will then appear right where it was and you can pick it right back up and it should be automatically reequipped.
