The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild may have changed the game when it comes to dungeons, but now fans are getting to experience the classic style once again in The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening remake for Nintendo Switch. The game features eight dungeons to travel to and beat to awaken the Windfish at the end of the game. You have to start somewhere and the first one you can make your way to is Tail Cave and this guide will explain where you can find it and how you can access it.
Tail Cave requires a key to enter it, which we already covered how to obtain in our Magic Powder guide. You have to go through the steps in that guide to get the Magic Powder and use it on the raccoon in the forest to turn Tarin back to normal. After freeing him, you can go north and obtain the Tail Key from the chest.
After obtaining the key, continue back in a southwardly direction to get out of the Mysterious Forest and back just to the west of Mabe Village. Instead of heading into Mabe Village, continue going south towards the beach area. Once you get past the screen with the two playing catch, you will notice you can move to the east, so go that direction instead of heading south.
Keep moving east a little and defeat any enemies that get in your way. Eventually, you will come across some sort of structure with bars and three Moldorm statues out front. You will notice that the one in the center has a lock on it, so go interact with it to use the Tail Key and you will gain access to the first dungeon in the game known as Tail Cave.
