Mario Party Superstars: How to Earn Coins Fast

Recommended Videos

Mario Party Superstars surprisingly has a majority of its core content unlocked from the get go, allowing for maximum fun to be had right out of the box. However, there are still things to unlock in Nintendo’s latest iteration of the franchise. You earn a single currency, to which no Super Mario fan isn’t a stranger to: coins.

Coins are used to buy things at Toad’s Shop. You can buy stickers, card designs, encyclopedia entries, and music. Upon purchasing these items, you can view them at the Data House. If you see the pricing, you’ll see some rather large numbers for coins needed for items. Don’t fret, here are some ways to earn coins quickly so you can buy out the shop.

How to earn coins fast in Mario Party Superstars

To earn coins quickly in Superstars, you can choose one of two methods.

Before starting, head on over to the Options House and set the Text Speed and CPU Movement Speed settings to “fast”. This just speeds up the process to maximize time efficiency.

The first method is to play the main mode, Mario Party. You can play it solo against three CPU opponents. Difficulty doesn’t seem to matter too much, so that is a preference. For all you want, you can set them all on Hard and get yourself a challenge. However, for farming purposes, you should set the CPUs to easy.

Pick any map and set the turns to 10. Try to maximize how many coins you earn in your playthrough; it’ll determine how much you get after the winner is announced. Basically, destroy the competition by getting as many stars as you can too, even if you have to play dirty.

A good session should net you around 600 to 1,000 coins. Of course, experiences may vary because there is a lot of luck when it comes to Mario Party games.

The other method is to hone your minigame skills at Mt. Minigames. Specifically, if you play the Tag Match mode and set it to a first-to-three win rule, you can guarantee yourself a quick 150 coins. These will add up and help you buy anything you want in the shop.

Mario Party Superstars is out now exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. To check out additional content for the game, click here.
