Mass Effect: Andromeda Guide – How to Heal

Depending on the difficulty level that you choose at the beginning of the game, Mass Effect: Andromeda can either be a breeze or a real challenge. Either way, there will come points where enemies have swarmed you too much, taking out your shields and chipping off a portion of your health. The shields will automatically restore to full once you stick behind some cover for long enough, but the health doesn’t. You can get it back though, so here’s a quick guide on how to heal in Mass Effect: Andromeda.

There are a couple of abilities that will let you heal up outside of combat, but we’ll assume that you don’t have these for this guide. You’ll find those abilities pretty obvious when they become available to you when leveling up your character or elsewhere. But that doesn’t help in the thick of things, when Kett are firing shots at your face for minutes on end. So here’s how to heal in that scenario.

The key to how to heal in Mass Effect: Andromeda is to look for boxes around the battlefield. You’ll likely have seen the ammo boxes, which are yellow and orange. The other boxes should have red above them, and they will heal you no matter what is going on. Many will even restore your shields completely, while also healing your health bar.

Some of these health boxes are unlimited, allowing you to walk near them and heal up as many times as you want. Others are limited use, healing you only a few times. You can see this in the symbols above the box. There will be a number of bars showing how many times the box can heal you, and using it will deplete a single bar.
