Of all the Call of Duty games that have come out in the eighth generation, Modern Warfare (2019) was perhaps the most successful installation of the game’s yearly releases. It reignited the interest in the overly saturated series and introduced the very popular Warzone just months after its release. With Modern Warfare 2 officially announced, people want to get their hands on the game, even its pre-release builds. Here is everything we know so far about the Modern Warfare 2 Alpha.
Modern Warfare 2 Alpha Release Date
While there are no exact release details for the Alpha, we can only speculate based on previous releases of the CoD franchise. Last year, Vanguard held its Alpha in August. There have been rumors that MW 2’s alpha will come out in August, which would make sense.
Perhaps we’ll get more details about pre-release content as we prepare for the worldwide reveal on June 8. In that reveal, we could also hopefully look forward to the new DMZ mode we loosely heard about from leaks.
Modern Warfare 2 Alpha Sign-Ups
Hopefully, players on all consoles will be able to sign up for the Alpha at the same time with no exclusivity in the way. Since the details are rather scarce right now, the Alpha tests are usually released first on PlayStation consoles, leaving Xbox and PC players waiting until open beta periods.
These also usually do not require some kind of pre-order like betas do. We’ll make sure to update you as we know more information regarding any sort of pre-release builds of the game to play. These can be a good way to determine if the game will be a day-one purchase or a skip.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is expected to release on October 28, 2022, on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series S/X, and PC via Battle.net.
