No Man’s Sky Guide: How To Replenish Life Support And Mining Beam

Two of the most important things that you have to do in No Man’s Sky is increase your life support system and make sure your mining beam has a lot of charge in it.

Your life support system decreases the longer you roam around the planet. You can see your life support bar at the bottom left hand corner of the screen. If it goes down to zero, your health bar will be affected and you will die unless you replenish your life support.

Thankfully, No Man’s Sky is full of abundant resources that you can use. You want to find resources such as zinc, plutonium, and carbon to replenish your life support. Carbon is the most common resource in the game and these items are colored red. Just use your mining beam to shoot at plants on the ground and you can go to the inventory menu to replenish the life support.

What happens if your mining beam runs out of charge/juice? Well the mining beam itself can be replenished using the same items. Again, Carbon is very common so you may not even have to worry about losing any ammo for your mining beam. Alternatively, important resources can also be found by visiting waypoints indicated by the blue question marks.
