Kiriko Cute and Pixel Sprays in Overwatch 2

Overwatch 2: How to Unlock Kiriko’s Cute and Pixel Sprays

Recommended Videos

Overwatch 2 continues the tradition of every Hero having an unlockable ‘Pixel’ and ‘Cute’ Spray, which feature Heroes in a chibi or 16-bit style, respectively. Players can complete challenging achievements to obtain these Sprays, and use them in-game as a sign of prowess. Kiriko, Junker Queen and Sojourn—Overwatch 2’s brand-new heroes—all have their own Sprays to expand your existing collection from the first game. In this guide, we will be detailing how you can unlock Kiriko’s Pixel and Cute Sprays in Overwatch 2.

How to Unlock Kiriko’s Cute and Pixel Sprays in Overwatch 2

Kiriko’s ‘Cute’ spray is obtained by completing the ‘Yokai’ achievement, while her ‘Pixel’ spray is tied to her ‘Purified’ achievement. Before we begin delving into further detail, we recommend reading our guide on Kiriko’s Playstyle to gain a better understanding of her Abilities. If you’d like even more Sprays to add to your collection, we also have guides on how to obtain Junker Queen and Kiriko’s Cute and Pixel Sprays!

How to Unlock Kiriko’s Cute Spray

To unlock Kiriko’s ‘Cute’ Spray in Overwatch 2, you will need to earn the ‘Yokai’ achievement, which can be earned by restoring 1500 health and landing 5 critical hits without dying in Quick Play or Competitive.

Kiriko heals using her primary fire, while her secondary fire deals damage. You will need to hang back as much as possible to stay alive, healing as much as you conceivably can. Don’t hesitate to use your ‘Swift Step’ ability to quickly pull yourself out of danger, should you need to. To land the 5 critical hits needed to unlock the Cute Spray, you will need to land 5 headshots with Kiriko’s Kunai. Try to land these on tank characters, as the majority have considerably large critical hitboxes. D.Va and Winston, in particular, are the easiest characters to land critical hits on as Kiriko.

To unlock Kiriko’s ‘Pixel’ Spray in Overwatch 2, you will need to earn the ‘Purified’ achievement by cleansing 5 negative effects with a single use of Kiriko’s Protection Suzu in Quick Play or Competitive. Being in a position where you can cleanse 5 negative effects is rather uncommon, so you will need to constantly be on alert for the opportunity, especially since Protection Suzu has a 14-second cooldown. Fortunately for us, heroes can be affected by multiple negative effects at one time, meaning you won’t necessarily have to cleanse your entire team to earn this spray.

Negative effects that can be cleansed include

  • Ashe’s Dynamite
  • Wounds applied by Junker Queen, including Rampage
  • Ana’s Sleep Dart and Biotic Grenade
  • Mei’s Blizzard
  • Reinhardt’s Shatter
  • Sombra’s Hack

The enemy team’s Junker Queen is your best friend when it comes to earning Kiriko’s Pixel Spray. With Queen’s entire kit built around wounds, she will constantly be applying them to your team through her standard abilities, as well as her Ultimate, which applies two negative effects at once. This means that you could earn the achievement by throwing your Protection Suzu at, at least,  three heroes that have been hit by Junker Queen’s Rampage.

Alternatively, you can also look out for wounded teammates that have been hit by a second negative effect. This could be Ana’s Biotic Grenade, which hits multiple targets at once, Sombra’s Hack, Ashe’s Dynamite, or even possibly Reinhardt’s Shatter if you’re swift enough. To get a better grasp of how Junker Queen’s wounds work, you can read our guide on Junker Queen’s playstyle and abilities.
