Pokémon GO: How to Catch Grass-Type Pokémon

Recommended Videos

The world of Pokémon GO is teeming with Grass-type Pokémon if you know where to find them. They’re a valuable type to have on hand when battling Water or Rock-types and have some famous faces from every generation’s starter roster. Here, we’ll be looking at the best places to find these Pokémon in the wild.

Catching Grass Pokémon in Pokémon GO

If you’re in the city, the bad news is that you’re at a natural disadvantage. So it’s unsurprising that you’ll find most Grass Pokémon in rural areas. If you’re going through these green areas, make sure to pull out your phone and catch as many of these field-dwelling types as possible.

The suburbs are also home to a wide variety of Grass Pokémon. Check out any fields, grassy parks, sports pitches and especially forests. Anywhere that you can go that has trees should have some Grass-types hanging around. As ever, if you’re in any of the above locations, you should prepare with Lure Modules and Incense.

National parks are also a good location, and if you can find one with a body of water, you can get some Water types to even out your team. The same goes for Golf Courses. These primarily green spaces can provide both Grass and Water-types, and even Dragon types are on the prowl on windier days.

Keep your eye out for events in spring and summer, as each of these often has events relating to or at least involving Grass-types. While there are fewer Legendary Pokémon of the typing, it’s also worth looking out for the occasional appearance of Celebii, and new to Generation VIII Zarude has recently made its first showing.

Now you know where to find Grass-type Pokémon in Pokémon GO, head out and try and get your very own Venusaur, Exeggutor or Vileplume. We’ve plenty of other tips and tricks for Pokémon GO, as well as all the latest news, on our dedicated page for Niantic’s hit AR title.
