The start of a new month means it’s time to lay out the Spotlight Hour schedule for August 2021 in Pokémon GO. These hour long weekly events offer a great chance to catch a ton of the featured Pokémon while enjoying an additional bonus, and possibly adding a new shiny to your collection. But this month is extra interesting as some weeks havent been fully announced just yet. We’ll update those when we can, but for now here’s the Spotlight Hour schedule for August 2021 in Pokémon GO.
Spotlight Hour Schedule – August 2021
Due to how the calendar works out this month August 2021 will feature five Spotlight Hour events. The first will kick off on Tuesday, August 3rd with a new one hitting every Tuesday following until the 31st. Each week will bring both a featured Pokémon that will spawn much more frequently in the wild as well as an additional bonus feature that will be active throughout the hour long event. But the main goal for many is to catch a shiny of whatever is spawning, so we have answered the question of “can it be shiny” for each week. Once we have the final two featured Pokémon we will update with that info as well (UPDATE: They have been added below).
August 3rd – 6pm to 7pm Local Time

Special Bonus: 2x Catch Stardust
Can Bulbasaur be shiny – Yes
