The second gym in the game, located in the seaside Dewford Town, takes the gym title very literally, with a fighting style. Small treadmills on the ground will block your way forward, so you will have to activate light switches to briefly light up the hallways to the left and right to find out the path you can take to get by. Take note of where the weights are and make your way between each trainer and to the gym leader Brawly.
Below are the list of Trainers that players will get to meet in the Dewford Town Gym and the Pokemon that they will use:
Battle Girl Laura
-Meditite – Level 13 (Fighting/Psychic)
Black Belt Hideki
-Machop – Level 13 (Fighting)
Battle Girl Tessa
-Meditite – Level 11 (Fighting/Psychic)
-Machop – Level 11 (Fighting)
Gym Leader Brawly
-Machop – Level 14 (Fighting)
- Moves:
- Karate Chop
- Bulk Up
- Seismic Toss
- Leer
- Strategy: With Machop being a strictly Fighting type, it will be best fought with the three that are super effective, Flying, Psychic, or Fairy. Based on the early game, this means you should be using either Taillow/Swellow, Dustox, Beautifly, or Ralts/Kirlia.
-Makuhita – Level 16 (Fighting)
- Moves:
- Knock Off
- Sand Attack
- Bulk Up
- Arm Thrust
- Strategy: See above exactly how to take down Machop and follow the same strategy.
