Evolution has changed in Pokemon Sword and Shield. The feature used to be somewhat simple, with most characters evolving at set levels ore requiring a stone. A few had special requirements, but nothing like what we’ve seen in these latest releases of the famous franchise. Some characters require very specific things to happen before they’ll evolve, such as Galarian Zigzagoon, at least in his second form. Here’s how to evolve Linoone into Obstagoon in Pokemon Sword and Shield.
How to Evolve Linoone into Obstagoon
Galarian Zigzagoon is definitely one of the coolest new additions to the series. His new black and white color scheme has him on many players’ teams right after they catch the first one. Once he reaches level 20 he’ll evolve into Linoone, but there’s a final form waiting. The game doesn’t break down how to evolve him though, which involves a lot of combat.
The specifics are actually still somewhat a topic of debate. Levels vary, but it should happen around or before your Galarian Linoone reaches level 55. Somewhere in between level 50 and 55 is typically when Linoone evolves into Obstagoon. But even with that, you need to make sure you’re using him to fight other Pokemon as often as possible.
As the Pokedex entry says, Linoone evolves into Obstagoon after “experiencing numerous fights”, so make sure to put him at the top of your team to make sure this happens quickly. Get to the Wild Area and attack as many Pokemon as you can, or use Galarian Linoone in your gym battles. Whatever you need to do to keep him in combat as much as possible will help. Keep the fights coming and get Linoone’s level high enough and soon he will evolve into Obstagoon without much trouble.
Hopefully this helps explain how to evolve Linoone into Obstagoon in Pokemon Sword and Shield.
