Red Dead Redemption 2 is full of cool Easter Eggs and really rewards players who are willing to go out and explore the world. From UFOs to robots, serial killers and just random occurences, there’s a ton of fun stuff to see outside of the story. Here are some of the best secrets that we’ve found in Red Dead Redemption 2.
The Red Dead Redemption 2 UFO
The UFO in Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the cooler Easter Eggs of the bunch, and you’ll only find it by exploring and putting together some clues that you find. North of the Emerald Ranch you’ll find a shack called Hani’s Bethel. Inside there was apparently a UFO cult of some sort. You’ll find a paper that essentially gives you instructions to come back to the house at 2 AM during a half moon.
You can visit the home and then camp outside until night. Once you go back inside a strange green light will shower the the building and a UFO will appear above. It will attempt to stay obscured and if you leave the home it will fly away.
You’ll find the building north of Emerald Station and the UFO will only appear if the requirements in the note have been met.
UFO #2
There is a second UFO in Red Dead Redemption 2 and you can get a better look at it by climbing to the top of Mt. Shann at 2AM to see this Easter Egg. This one will hover off in the distance and you can get a clear look at the second unidentified flying object of the game. It’s clear that the aliens loved the wild west.
Meteor House
The Meteor House looks like any other building in the game but when you go inside you’ll see what appears to be the unluckiest of people. There’s a hole in the roof and a meteorite has plummeted to earth and killed them. The room is smoking and the bodies are burned. Inside you can collect the meteorite.
The Meteor House is located in Northern Annesburg just north of the river in Roanoke Valley. For more details about the Meteor House, head here.
Witches Cauldron
The Witches Cauldron is a unique location in the game that features a bubbling Cauldron full of mysterious liquid that you can actually drink. What happens when you drink the liquid? You’ll black out and wake up away from the house.
Strange Statues
Want to make some easy cash and solve a puzzle in the process. Head over the cave due north of the Hill House and you’ll find a statue puzzle that can earn you what might be the fastest cash reward in the game. The full instructions for the statue puzzle can be found here.
The Red Dead Serial Killer
There’s a unique quest that can be found in Red Dead Redemption 2 just by exploring the world. There are three bodies that have been dismembered and there’s a serial killer taunting you to come get them. Find all three bodies and then head to the serial killer’s horrific cellar to capture them.
The serial killer’s home is called Lucky’s Cabin, but you can’t get into the basement without finding the three notes and a lock combination.
The Grave Sites of Fallen Friends
Once you’ve completed Red Dead Redemption’s main storyline, you can go back and pay respects to the gang members who died during the story. It’s one of the collectibles in the game and will allow you to visit the graves of those who died along the way. Interestingly enough, the locations of these graves are all located in the spots where they would logically be in terms of how the story played out.
The graves are found all across the world, but you can use this Grave Locations Guide to find them all. These graves will only be available once Chapter Six is complete.
The World’s First Robot
If you complete the Marco Dragic side missions in Red Dead Redemption 2 you will already be introduced to Marco Dragic’s robot creation. However, you can encounter this robot out in the world if you head to the top of a mountain west of Colter. You will have had to complete the character missions before this will trigger. You’ll first meet Dragic in Saint Denis, and after completing his boat mission you’ll find him again in north east corner of the map at the top of the map by a tower at Doverhill. Marco will only spawn at specific times so head back to do this mission at night.
Abigail Jailbreak
If you get arrested in Blackwater as John Marston, your wife will come break you out of jail. This Easter Egg happens after the main story line and Blackwater will be on complete lockdown after Abigail knocks out the officer that is guarding you in the jail cell.
You will need to actually commit a crime in Blackwater and then surrender to the law to get this Easter Egg to trigger.
The Manmade Mutant
The experiment house is one of the oddest Easter Eggs in Red Dead Redemption 2 that was obviously only meant to be found by the explorers. West of the Van Horn Trading Post there’s a house that has a weird experiment going on inside it, but you’ll need to be pretty observant to figure out how to get in. All of the doors and windows are boarded up, except for a window on the second floor. Heading to the front of the house you can jump up onto a cart and then onto the roof ledge, at which point you can enter through the open window. Inside you’ll find a very weird experiment, alongside notes that describe this creature’s different parts.
Is it Bigfoot?
If you go up into Mount Shann you might find the remains of a Sasquatch. If you go to the location in the map above you find a unique location that has a skeleton of some kind of giant. You’ll sketch it down in your journal but nothing else ever comes of it. Still, one of the cooler things in Red Dead Redemption 2 to find this massive human-like skeleton up in the mountains. Is it finally the Bigfoot/Sasquatch that GTA players have been looking for? Only Rockstar knows.
There are some other Easter Eggs and potential mysteries that we are working on and will update this post with more information when discovered.
