One of the things that Resident Evil fans are used to that might surprise newer players is that the games like to load you up with items, without telling you what to do with them. This happens pretty early in Resident Evil 2, as you pick up some rolls of film that don’t immediately indicate where to go or what to do with them. To help, here’s what to do with film rolls in Resident Evil 2 Remake.
If you’ve been exploring the RPD building extensively then you might have some idea of where to go. Past the West Office, tucked into the corner near the staircase that heads all the way up to the third floor, is a room that’s exclusively dedicated to these random items. You can see it in the image above.
Called the Dark Room, younger players might not understand that these were necessary before the use of digital cameras. Once you have a film roll, you need to head here to develop the film and get the image out of it. Head inside, make sure the lights are off (the room should look red), then head into the back hallway and to the developing station. Choose the film roll and you’ll end up with a lovely picture of some statue or random location within RPD.
And that’s what to do with film rolls in Resident Evil 2 Remake. What you do with the images after that differs in a lot of ways, so let us know in the comments if you have any questions.
