There are a lot of iconic enemies from throughout the Star Wars series, but one of the most well known is definitely the AT-ST. Sometimes called the chicken walker by some, the AT-ST are the two legged units used by Imperials to try to keep their enemies at bay. There was little doubt the AT-ST would show up in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, with you first running into one as you’re trying to leave Zeffo for the first time. This guide will provide some strategies on how to take the AT-ST down, as you will face these more than once in the game.
How To Destroy an AT-ST
Thankfully you are not going up against an AT-AT, but merely the AT-ST, which is much more manageable here. Starting off in any confrontation against the AT-STs in the game, you are going to want to be ready to deflect any laser blasts back at it. This will be signified by the guns lighting up red, so be ready. This is not going to be effective enough to take down the AT-ST, however, unless you want to drag this fight out for a very long time.
That means you’re going to have to get up close and personal at some point here, which can be dangerous in of itself. In addition to the laser blasts, the AT-ST also has missiles that it shoots, so be careful to avoid them when trying to approach the enemy.
Once you get under the AT-ST, start hacking away at its legs as much as you can. You have to be careful though, because the AT-ST has two defensive mechanisms to protect itself from you attacking it up close. The first of these are bombs that it will drop and explode a few seconds after, while the other are electroshock fields that it will drop on the ground that can stun you. You have to be very careful not to get stunned by the electroshock fields, as sometimes you will get the double whammy of getting stunned and then hit by the bombs too.
To avoid these, your best bet is to keep dodging by pressing B on Xbox One a lot while you are down there. Keep attacking, but also stay on the defensive as well and eventually you will take down the AT-ST.
