Early in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order you can acquire the Double-Bladed Lightsaber, but it will require a degree of patience and relatively thick skin. You can always obtain it later by following the story, but why wait?
When given the option to head to Dathomir, do so.
After the first chapter you’ll find your next story objective on Zeffo, but Cere will suggest stopping by Dathomir if you’re feeling froggy. While it may be tempting to stay on the main path, opting to go to Dathomir prior to Zeffo not only yields great early-game experience, but will reward you with the Double-Bladed Lightsaber a good eight hours earlier than you’d find it following the story.
The wrinkle to this is, well, Dathomir is difficult. The spiders there will spit venom as they rush you, and the Nightbrothers will pose a challenge to players still figuring out which end of the lightsaber they’re supposed to stab baddies with. You’re also heading there without any of Cal’s major Force powers, so you won’t be progressing far on the planet.
Just head up in the main area, using the wall run on yellow painted walls to scramble towards the top. Follow the path across a rock bridge with a creepy effigy, and a cutscene will play. After you deal with the Nightbrothers, follow the path across a ravine and take the stairs up and to the right. Follow this path forward until you pop out on the other side of the locked door you encountered above the stairs.
From here, you’ll see a path leading up, and one leading down. Take the path down to find a workbench that, once interacted with, will grant Cal the Double-Bladed Lightsaber. From here you can safely leave Dathomir: you will need all three major Force powers in order to continue exploring the planet, so you may as well get back on the main path at this point.
