V Rising Fishing Guide: How to Catch Fish With a Fishing Rod

Recommended Videos

In the world of V Rising, it’s kill or be killed. You’ll need to make sure that you’ve got everything you need to survive through the days, while you go out at night to gather materialsfight bosses, and build your castle up. However, you can also take part in some activities that can help you relax, as well as provide some great materials for future projects.

That’s right, you can take part in one of the most relaxing events in the real world in V Rising: fishing. You’ll be able to craft and create a fishing rod, but only after accomplishing a few other tasks first. Let’s sink our fangs in, and get right into the details of how to get your very own fishing rod!

How To Catch Fish In V Rising

The first thing that you’ll need to do to get your hands on a fishing rod is craft a Woodworking Bench. If you’re looking to do that, you’ll need to find and take down Rufus, The Foreman. You’ll want to make sure that your gear level is at least level 20 before trying to take him down. Once you have defeated him, you’ll get the ability to craft the Woodworking Bench, unlocking new objects for your castle, as well as the fishing rod.

While fishing is relaxing, you’ll also need to craft one of these to catch a specific type of fish to summon the Putrid Rat boss, which will allow you to shapeshift into a rodent. You’ll need to catch the Twilight Snapper to throw into a Vermin Nest to bring him to your castle, so getting a fishing rod is more important than just having a way to relax.

If you’re looking to get your hands on the fishing rod after crafting the Woodworking Bench, you’ll need to make sure that you have:

  • 4 Coarse Thread
  • 4 Copper Ingot
  • 8 Planks

Once you have all of these items, you’ll be able to select the Fishing Rod from the crafting menu at the Woodworking Bench, and get to work! But, how do you fish? That’s the easiest part. You’ll just need to approach any small pond or lake, and equip the fishing rod to start catching fish! The Twilight Snapper is a rarer fish to get your hands on, so you’ll just need to take some extra time to find them, but since it’s such a relaxing task compared to everything else going on in the world, cast away.

V Rising is available now, in early access, on Microsoft Windows.
