Ubisoft has finally confirmed what we suspected some time ago: Assassin’s Creed Rogue is making its way to PS4 and Xbox One with a new version optimizing its graphics and including all the DLC from the original release for the previous generation and PC. Fans of the franchise will remember Rogue as the game that launched alongside Assassin’s Creed Unity in 2014, and while it was technically an inferior product in graphics, the several technical issues of Unity made some think that PS3 and 360 users had received the better game of the two.
Assassin’s Creed Rogue also stands out for presenting a completely unique perspective in the franchise, as this time we follow a former Assassin who has turned his back against his brothers, and now fights alongside the Templars. The game takes the naval gameplay seen in Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag and sets it in the icy seas of the North Atlantic. The dark path of the protagonists will allow players to visit locations from the The North Atlantic, New York City, and River Valley.
Here’s an official synopsis of the game: “18th century, North America. Amidst the chaos and violence of the French and Indian War, Shay Patrick Cormac, a fearless young member of the Brotherhood of Assassins, undergoes a dark transformation that will forever shape the future of the American colonies. After a dangerous mission gone tragically wrong, Shay turns his back on the Assassins who, in response, attempt to end his life. Cast aside by those he once called brothers, Shay sets out on a mission to wipe out all who turned against him and ultimately become the most feared Assassin hunter in history.”
Assassin’s Creed Rogue Remastered launches for PS4 and Xbox One on March 20. Watch the trailer below.
