Battlefield 4 was just revealed, and to entice players to go ahead an plunk their cash down early on the game, EA has begun with the pre-order incentives for the shooter. For those that pre-order Battlefield 4 for Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, they’ll be entitled to the first expansion pack for the game called “Drone Strike”.

For PC players, there’s even deeper incentives to pre-purchase on Origin. With the standard digital download, PC players will get the Drone Strike Expansion. For those that opt for the Digital Deluxe version, there’s exclusive beta access and bonus in-game content to be had. So what is the Drone Strike Expansion? DICE hasn’t said what type of content this will be, but smart money is on some type of additional multiplayer content for the game. With the release of Battlefield 3, players who purchased the Limited Edition got the beefy Back to Karkand multiplayer map pack.

Though the expansion content is standard across the board, numerous retailers have been sweetening the pot for this release. Wal-mart is offering a full copy of Battlefield 3 with their pre-order program, GameFly is offering money off, and there will likely be more of these schemes as marketing picks up for the shooter.

If you missed the reveal trailer for Battlefield 4, it’s definitely worth a watch. Single player only, but still shows off the advancements in graphics with DICE’s Frostbite 3 Engine. A beta for the shooter is slated to arrive this fall, but we’ll likely be hearing a lot about this project from DICE in the near future.
