Dead or Alive 6 Gets a Release Date and New Trailer
Along with two more characters and pre-order bonuses.
Tecmo have finally given us a date that we can take off work to pummel faces into exploding walls and pick up Dead or Alive 6. The new entry in the fantastic fighting series will launch on February 15th next year.
The story trailer delivers exactly what you want from a fighting game: confusion, disproportionate aggression, slow motion escapes, explosions, outrageous outfits, dinosaurs and tentacles. What more could you ask for?
Well, the release date trailer also introduces Marie Rose and Honoka to the current roster of 10. Marie Rose is Helena’s servant while Honoka is our secret high-school martial artist.
That makes the current roster:
- Jann Lee
- Marie Rose
Tecmo have also detailed the pre-order bonuses. If you’re that way inclined. PS4 owners can nab a unique theme and Nyotengu (the female Tengu from DOA 5) while Xbox One owners will trade the theme for a bonus costume for Rya Hayabusa. If you purchase the game digitally before March 14th, you’ll also get a bonus costume for Kasumi (and Nyotengu on PC).
There’s also a Digital Deluxe Edition, which throws together the game plus a bonus Phase-4 Kasumi character, 25 costumes (no details which ones) and 3 “deluxe” tracks.
So that’s 12 characters to fight with so far, 3 revealed stages and more to come soon. The game is shaping up well and I personally can’t wait to get my sweaty hands on the title.
Dead or Alive 6 is out on February 15th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
