Today’s reveal of the Annual Pass for Destiny 2 left some scratching their heads and wondering if their wallets will be able to handle the year ahead for Bungie’s shooter.  Today the developer revealed that alongside their Forsaken DLC, Destiny 2 players can choose to pay a little bit extra for an Annual Pass that provides more content in the year ahead.

On the monetary side, Destiny 2 players that opt for the Annual Pass have a couple of options.  They can get the Digital Deluxe Edition of Forsaken for $79.99 or they can purchase the Forsaken + Annual Pass Bundle for $69.99.  The Forsaken DLC by itself will cost $39.99.  Regardless of your choice, the cost of Destiny 2 is starting to mount as Bungie heads into year 2 if you’ve been keeping up with the content thus far.

Unfortunately, Bungie didn’t do a very good job of explaining what this new Annual Pass is during their livestream, and have since put out some more information about it.  They say that their next update on This Week at Bungie will hold more details, but in the meantime “The Annual Pass is designed to improve upon the previous Expansion Pass, and will not replace seasonal events and live game updates every player of Destiny 2 can access,” says @Bungie.

Bungie also says that there will be more options for players who don’t own the base game for Destiny 2 later in the year.  The Forsaken DLC is slated for release this September on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
